Providing six million gallons per day of high quality reuse water to Braden River Utilities
Braden River Utilities serves non-potable water to the Schroeder-Manatee Ranch's farming, ranching, mining, and nursery operations, as well as the nearby residential, commercial, and industrial developments within Lakewood Ranch.
Stantec teamed with the City of Bradenton's primary consultant to quickly and efficiently complete the design of the reclaimed water main. The project includes a 6-MGD pump station, and 10 miles of 20-inch, and shorter routes of 12-inch and 16-inch mains.
We were able to overcome the challenge of a roadway with heavily congestied utilities through creative routing of the reclaimed water main.
This is a true integrated example where Braden River Utilities is using the reclaimed waters and surface waters to minimize the use of groundwater, while they continue to grow at an aggressive pace. In recognition of this accomplishment, the project was selected by the local Suncoast Branch of the ASCE as Project of the Year. The award announcement stated “ to help recognize Braden River Utilities for improving the quality of life and community through the project”, which is always our intent when providing our services where we live, work, and play.
