Helping improve a community's wastewater infrastructure
The Alpine Lake Public Utilities Company provides clean, safe drinking water to citizens from local mountain spring aquifers in addition to treating wastewater. Located in rural Terra Alta, West Virginia, the wastewater collection system and treatment facility’s 2300-acre service area includes a resort community and more 500 homes.
While the mountain community has largely remained quiet and serene over the last few decades, the aging treatment facility was struggling to meet the usage demands of residents and visitors. From initial evaluations through construction management, we supported our client’s need for better inflow and infiltration capabilities with a resourceful approach to upgrading the system. We designed a new treatment facility, renovated four of the existing sewage pump stations, and installed two new stations.
The Terra Alta community is known for its commitment to ecological planning and protecting the natural splendor the Alpine Lake area. Our team supported these initiatives with an improved wastewater treatment system capable of sustaining population growth without sacrificing the beauty of this secluded mountain wonderland.
