Consolidating 14 different buildings into a unified campus for the Calgary Police Service
Formerly spread across 14 buildings, the Calgary Police Service (CPS) saw a need to centralize their services at a single location. We worked with CPS to renovate the existing 60-acre campus, transforming it into a hub for law enforcement. The reimagined two-building campus brings together executive and administrative functions, recruiting and training, the fleet services garage, as well as media and public services.
After extensive consultation with CPS, the $32 million LEED Silver Certified project sees a range of renovations, additions and repurposing create a more efficient and effective space for police operations. Our design added a floor to the East Building’s warehouse section for additional office space. The West Building was extensively renovated to bring various specialized investigative facilities and functions under one roof. Together, the East and West Buildings contain 650,000 square feet of space, with the ability to expand to one million square feet.
For CPS members and staff, the reimagined facility helps them focus their resources where it counts the most, in the community. And, for the community, police services are easier to access in one location.
