Providing hangar bay storage, maintenance shops and operations headquarters for maritime helicopter squadron designed to post-disaster standards

This new 20,000 square metre facility for the 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron consists of an operations headquarters and large maintenance hangar. It provides storage for five rotary aircraft, two spread-wing maintenance bays, an interior spread-wing wash and maintenance bay, and associated maintenance and machine shops.

This high security building includes auxiliary shops, parts warehouse, staff accommodations, and flight operations that are located in the facility to meet DND operational requirements. Large corridors serve as material handling routes between the shops and hangars while enabling personnel movement throughout the facility. The building is designed to meet LEED Silver designation.

This building provides a modern, safe work environment for the men and women of the Canadian military, which in turn benefits the country at large as they work to keep our country safe and secure.
