Placing a transmission line safely in an environmentally sensitive area
Our environmental team obtained the required permits and approvals in advance of the delivery of a transmission line which increases grid capacity by providing 1,000MW of new generation capacity. The transmission line extends over 180 kilometers and traverses natural environment features to help connect the Bruce Nuclear plant with a number of previously constrained wind projects in the area to boost power capacity.
To help get the project off the ground, our team of environmental specialists completed environmental and impact assessments to minimize any adverse environmental and community impacts. Our team was able to help our client meet their aggressive schedule by providing assistance with the consultant coordination and working with the various parties that had an interest in this project, including government and non-government agencies, First Nations and members of the community to help alleviate concerns about the line placement in this environmentally sensitive area.
