Generating a brighter future for Nepal by improving the supply and reliability of electricity.

Increasing the flow of electricity while facilitating trade between countries

Nepal faces extensive economic development challenges, fueled by the high costs of transportation, as well as the inadequate supply of electricity.

We’re working with the Millennium Challenge Account-Nepal to oversee the building of critical power infrastructure as part of a $630 million USD Compact between the U.S. Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation and Nepal. We provide project preparation and technical supervision for the construction of 300 kilometers of high voltage power lines and three new substations spanning an area roughly one-third the length of Nepal.

Successfully completing the project will significantly increase Nepal’s power-carrying capacity by increasing the flow of electricity from existing and future generation plants into the network, while also facilitating electricity trade with India.

The right infrastructure in place helps improve the supply and reliability of electricity for millions of residential and commercial consumers, provides critical social services such as education and health care, and attracts greater private-sector investment.
