A first step towards cleaner air and redefining Los Angeles car culture
In a first for the San Fernando Valley, the Los Angeles East San Fernando Valley Corridor (ESFVC) light rail transit (LRT) line will connect communities, providing a more sustainable way of getting around—moving away from cars towards cleaner air solutions. LA Metro anticipates the ESFVC will accommodate 30,000 boardings per day, which is expected to skyrocket when Los Angeles hosts the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
With large numbers of people using the LA Metro transit line, trains will need to be maintained. We provided architecture, interior design, and sustainable design services for LA Metro’s East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Maintenance and Storage Facility. Occupying an approximately 21-acre site, the new 140,000 square foot facility includes administrative offices, operations areas, and maintenance functions. Designed to optimize maintenance processes and track speeds, all tracks in the main shop will allow through-movements of trains.
Our services will provide a sustainable maintenance facility for a project that’s set to welcome San Fernando Valley residents and host the world with the summer Olympics in 2028.
