This project created a world-class tool that allows Qatar’s Public Works Authority to plan future water infrastructure

Ever-changing demographics in Qatar create a challenge for all types of planners, including in the water and wastewater sectors. Our team was appointed by the Public Works Authority of Qatar (Ashghal) to develop an integrated drainage master plan for the state.

Ashghal’s goal was to find an integrated water management approach that brought together the planning and operation of all water streams. Our team created the plan for a state-of-the-art, sustainable infrastructure system. Not only will this allow Qatar continued growth and prosperity through the study of the whole water cycle, but it will also allow our client to plan and monitor water, promoting sustainability.

Working closely with all stakeholders, both public and private, Ashghal can maximize water conservation and minimize wastage. For the next 50 years, wastewater treatment, groundwater management, surface water, and treated wastewater effluent infrastructure will be made bigger and better. By planning for the future through investigation, study, and implementation of various initiatives, our team has provided infrastructure to support mega events such as the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™.
