Project advisory services to coordinate mill expansion
Rogers Foods has been milling quality flour and cereal products from Canadian grain for over 60 years. When production demand overfilled the capacity of the (Stantec designed) existing mill in Chilliwack, BC, Rogers Foods set out to expand.
The goal? Constructing a new mill building immediately adjacent and connected to the existing structure that would greatly improve production capabilities. The adjacent building approach allows personnel to operate both areas simultaneously, while also permitting trucks exiting the expansion to use the existing scale. We provided project advisory services, coordinating project aspects including the work of the design-build contractor in conjunction with the milling equipment supplier and bin supplier.
By incorporating the latest automation and milling technology, along with the installation of a series of new steel silos and double load-out bays, the facility’s production capacity has been increased by 80%–which adds an additional 250 metric tons of wheat milling capacity per day.
