This large, flagship project created new capacity and many new jobs in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Cavendish Farms, a J.D. Irving, Limited food company, wanted to build a new frozen potato processing plant in Lethbridge, Alberta. As a long-time collaborator on their projects—and leveraging our local offices in Calgary and Lethbridge—we secured the detailed design engineering work for this major greenfield development project.

The design goes from the ground up, with a scope including architectural, civil, structural, process, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation detail design services. Though the bulk of the work was led by our New Brunswick team, the local teams helped out with this complex project.

Completed in fall 2019, the new plant nearly triples annual production capacity in Lethbridge for Cavendish Farms.
