Elevating commuter rail services improves access, safety, community connections and growth potential.
While the rail line linking the communities of Caulfield and Dandenong to Melbourne is a benefit to commuters, several level crossings on the route present congestion and safety issues. The Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal Project will remove nine level crossings between Caulfield and Dandenong and see the construction of five new elevated stations.
Our role in the project includes in-house project design services, as well as the secondment of several our staff members with project partner, Lendlease. With our expertise in civil design and drafting services, we are helping planners turn their concepts into solutions that connect communities and improve services for commuters.
For decades, the rail line has been a barrier in the communities it effectively bisected. By elevating the new stations and rail line, the flow of people, goods and services is greatly improved, and with enhanced safety. As well, the transit stations are expected to offer opportunities for economic growth in their immediate surroundings.
