Jim has 43 years of experience in project management and engineering for water treatment, conveyance, and storage facilities. An award-winning water treatment expert, he is one of the lead authors of the Stantec Water Treatment Principles and Design Textbook (3rd Edition) that is used to teach water treatment in universities across the country.
Jim has managed water quality studies, bench and pilot scale testing, facility planning and design, process evaluation, site development, hydraulic analysis, treatment plant design, construction management, and startup and operation on more than 125 treatment facilities. He has also served as technical advisor on more than 250 other treatment projects.
Outside of work, Jim enjoys time spent outdoors. Whether he’s camping, fishing, hiking, or spending time on the water, he finds happiness in the sights and sounds of nature. Jim also loves to travel and appreciates the uniqueness of the world’s landscapes, communities, and cultures.
