Game-changing facility transforms rugby training experience in New South Wales
University of New South Wales (UNSW) Daceyville facility. The relocation provided an opportunity for NSW Rugby to create a modern, dynamic training hub for both the NSW Waratahs rugby club and the NSW Rugby team. It will also serve as a home for local little leagues to train and host weekend competitions.
We’ve been one of NSW Rugby’s partners throughout this journey. From the initial planning and approvals to the design and final construction, we provided critical services across multiple engineering disciplines as well as acoustics, sustainability, and traffic consulting. In particular, we lent our engineering expertise to the community consultation process such as explaining acoustics and how we would mitigate the impact of noise in the area. We also worked closely with the architect on elements like the slope of the roof and design features that would help prevent balls from getting stuck up high.
The new two-storey facility features a sprawling 500-square-metre gymnasium, advanced medical and recovery amenities, a high-tech team analysis room, and versatile office spaces, meeting rooms, and function areas. Enhancements also include a significant increase in patron capacity, upgraded lighting, an improved public address system, and expanded seating to support a positive experience for all who come to the Centre.
