Creating an efficient and reliable power source for the City of Pasadena
What keeps the lights on? There are lots of different ways to generate electricity. Some are better than others. The City of Pasadena wanted to improve the quality of their energy, but they needed to keep costs to the consumer competitive. Our job was to manage the project and the construction.
The Glenarm Power Plant is a 71 megawatt 1x1 aeroderivative-based, combined-cycle power plant. As liaison between the Pasadena Department of Water and Power and contractors from Combined Cycle Power Island Equipment and Balance of Plant, we took on the responsibility for critical project activities, equipment delivery, and commissioning.
This repowering project increased efficiency and reliability. It’ll help the City of Pasadena deliver environmentally responsible electricity service—the service that keeps the community bulbs burning.
