Overseeing the widening and resurfacing of a heavily traveled roadway serving western North Dakota

In Western North Dakota, Highway 22 does not follow a straight route. It curves and climbs from the Little Missouri River to Highway 73. These steep slopes combined with increased truck traffic to the oil fields have caused significant traffic backups and serious traffic accidents.

Recognizing the urgent need for repair, North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) selected Stantec to provide construction administration for the widening of 14 miles of roadway, including flattening of existing vertical curves and resurfacing of this important route. Our staff provided NDDOT with daily reports and project information and maintained all necessary state and county construction documentation.
