Upgrading infrastructure for accessibility
Right across from New York City’s famous Bryant Park, with Times Square to the west, Grand Central to the east, and Penn Station to the south, you’ll find 7 Bryant Park—a new, iconic commercial building. With all of these transit destinations surrounding it, 7 Bryant Park is positioned to be a significant subway access point for residents and tourists alike.
With our design and construction support, the new subway entrance accesses the 42nd Street Station complex. We coordinated with New York City Transit (NYCT), designers, and contractors to move the complicated approvals process along.
A relocated stair and new street-to-mezzanine elevator gives riders access to the 6th Avenue and Flushing lines, as well as a new passageway to connect back to the existing NYCT mezzanine.
We also designed and coordinated utility relocations, new plantings, and new sidewalks. With all of these infrastructure upgrades and more, we brought new, tangible benefits to subway riders, NYCT, and the City.
