Generating and exporting up to 25MWe of green electricity to the national grid
The proposed Energy Works facility will use RDF to generate and export up to 25MWe of green electricity to the national grid. The proposed technology is an advanced gasification plant comprising a fluidised bed gasifier, which will convert dry biodegradable waste into synthetic gas. The Energy Works development will sustain a combination of innovative renewable energy technology and contribute to UK and European targets for energy conservation and security.
Stantec was appointed to carry out design work relating to the gasification plant which included boiler plant, steam-condensate systems and balance of plant items. Stantec’s work also included carrying out design development and review of the full plant design and preparing a detailed CAPEX to secure funding and procurement of the scheme.
