The Merchant Kitchen & Bar is an internationally inspired restaurant that offers a culinary concept that blends urban street food from Asia and Latin America. The restaurant offers patrons a unique dining experience that entices all of one’s senses, from the smell of exotic spices, to the sounds of food searing within an eclectic and stimulating environment.
Located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg, The Merchant is an internationally inspired restaurant designed to capture a variety of rhythms, richness, colors, and textures. The layering and the blurring of public and private spaces and overlapping functionality are much like a Middle Eastern bazaar. Traditions, personal style, and travel experiences are reflected at The Merchant and connected around tantalizing food and beverage choices, with the fabric of the whole scene woven together through such elements as an open kitchen, variety of seating arrangements, unisex washrooms, central bar, and overall design and finishes.
The Merchant Kitchen & Bar boasts an array of spaces from very open and social dining to intimate rooms within rooms, encouraging spontaneous interaction and providing inviting spaces for old friends to meet, talk, laugh, share, and enjoy.
