Stantec studied the impact of battery cycles on an electricity distribution system

Stantec helped determine the feasibility of connecting two megawatts of battery storage to an Ontario utility’s electricity distribution grid as part of the regional transmission organization’s energy storage procurement program, which supports the expansion of renewable energy in the province. Our grid modernization team performed a dynamic analysis study to determine the impact of battery cycles on the utility’s distribution system and prepared the detailed connection-impact-assessment application for the two megawatts flow battery system.
