Outreach activities and community engagement combine to support collaboration
The European Union and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have long enjoyed a strong relationship, with South Korea being one of the EU's four strategic partners in Asia.
To bolster this relationship, Stantec was awarded the new phase of the EU Policy and Outreach Partnership (EUPOP) project, from 2020 to 2022. This initiative will put the spotlight on public diplomacy, where engagement activities will be carried out with key audiences such as youth and civil society organizations.
Our project components include two model EU simulations—that the team designs and coordinates with universities in RoK—and a civil society outreach campaign where sustainable networks and development opportunities are enhanced. We’ll also design and roll out a communication campaign to support the youth and civil society organisations further interactions.
One of EUPOP’s main areas of focus is the social media outreach and the coordination of events. Another focus is a national conference that serves both as a progress review of the outreach network as well as an opportunity to look ahead at how to maintain this mutually beneficial EU-RoK partnership.
These varied communication activities enhance the wider understanding of EU values, views, policies, and priorities—reinforcing trust and mutual understanding.
