Springfield Central Sporting Complex
Spanning 33 hectares (81.5 acres), the Springfield Central Sporting Complex is a AUD$54 million regional multi-sport facility commissioned by Ipswich City Council to service the Greater Springfield area. Lendlease Communities, working for the Council, engaged us to lead the design and construction supervision of this high-profile project.
We provided civil engineering design, geotechnical and underground service investigation, and hydraulic modeling of stormwater services. We also designed sporting field media and courts, verified access and grade compliance, and provided structural engineering design of retaining walls, civil structures, and clubhouses. Additionally, we provided landscape architecture, architectural design, building services design, electrical supply and lighting, and construction phase supervision services.
The complex is currently home to a soccer club, tennis club, Australian football club, and netball association. The new facility will also support the four schools in the surrounding area and contains a playground and a series of recreation spaces for the growing Greater Springfield community. As a regionally significant facility, the complex will host the state netball championships and regional sporting tournaments.
