Mark is a senior project design architect and project manager with 30 years of experience in architecture and interior design. With a multidisciplinary background and energetic design approach, Mark is involved in projects from conceptual design through to contract documentation and completion of construction.
Early in his career, Mark had an opportunity to work with renowned architect Arthur Erickson, from whom he learned a great deal about restraint and clarity of idea. He draws experience from several project types including education, cultural, institutional, retail or commercial, healthcare, and residential—each having influenced the other. A notable project of Mark’s is when he led the design of the first Aboriginal student housing project in BC. Here, his project team worked closely with Elders to ensure the building would become a home for students, reflecting their cultural values.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys real estate, seeking out locations and countries where there is architecture he wants to see, and being in nature by hiking, biking, skiing, or swimming in lakes and oceans.
