With over 30 years of engineering experience, Nigel has played a key role in the design, investigation, construction supervision and review for infrastructure projects across Canada. Specializing in building foundations, large industrial facilities, ground improvement, construction innovation, and seismic design, his career has been defined by the numerous liquid natural gas (LNG) projects that he’s been involved with over the last 20 years.
Serving as the leader of the Geotechnical practice in Canada, Nigel is tasked with his team’s growth and direction. As an active participant in the geotechnical community, he is the former chair of the Vancouver Geotechnical Society and has served on the national board for the Canadian Geotechnical Society. Nigel has been involved in several geotechnical committees and is helping mentor the next generation of engineers—one highlight being his role as keynote speaker at the Canadian Young Geotechnical Engineers and Geoscientists conference.
On a personal note, Nigel enjoys his free time with family and friends and is an avid golfer—he’s played courses all over the world.
