Achieving a client’s expectations of on-budget and on-time projects within the context of bold design keeps architects innovating. John believes that design has both the power to create a vision and the responsibility to carefully select and detail materials in a collective, cohesive fashion.
Recently, John and his team had the opportunity to design a significant renovation project for the Technical Education Wing of the F.H. Collins Secondary School in Whitehorse, Yukon. The energy upgrade improved comfort for occupants, reduced energy costs, and created a striking entry and façade. Through bold aesthetic and geometric elements the new exterior will be visually connected to the new F.H. Collins Secondary School, located a short walk away. Further improvements include interior seismic upgrading to ensure a safe learning environment for staff and students.
Through continued client participation and skillful integration of key project criteria, John ensures a smooth and seamless design process is achieved. Knowing the importance of sustainable design, he’s constantly searching to deliver an environmentally sensitive project.
