Drainage and stormwater management are key to leaving the environment better than we found it. As a highways drainage practice leader, Keane enjoys the challenge of each new project—conceptualising how to capture, convey, clean, and deliver water back to the receiving environment while maintaining its mauri (spiritual life force).
Keane’s technical leadership is driven by a passion for hydraulics and drainage design that he’s had since university. Experienced in major transport projects, he’s well acquainted with roading geometrics, and the geotechnical, structural, environmental, and ecological constraints involved. Working in drainage and stormwater management, he strives for long-lasting outcomes that benefit not only the road user but surrounding environments and local communities. He’s teaming up with Wellington Council and Wellington Water to navigate the complicated stormwater context that underlies the Golden Mile project, where we’re working to improve transport options in the central business district.
With two young boys comes heaps of energy, so Keane’s weekends are often spent cheering on the sidelines of sports games.
