A graduate transport engineer, Steven assists our Transport team on business cases, transport assessments and planning, and other tasks such as traffic and economic analyses. His ultimate goal at work is to help create safer, more connected communities in Aotearoa New Zealand. And while still a graduate, he’s developed a keen interest working on business cases—particularly economic evaluations—and writing road safety audits.
Steven’s favourite part of the job? That every challenge is different because transport largely deals with human behaviour and people interactions. He likes that the unpredictability associated with every project keeps him on his toes. A standout work piece? Steven helped create a policy document and an accompanying GIS (geographic information system) application to provide Christchurch City Council with guidance on what to put out, and where, for advance warning signs on its road network.
Outside of work Steven plays a multitude of sports—badminton, volleyball, football, and golf, to name a few.
