A specialist in the field of aquatic ecology, David has decades of experience working on the river systems in the Wellington region. He’s also worked on projects in both the private and public sectors across New Zealand, and international assignments in Fiji, Pakistan, and Antarctica. David’s work includes environmental assessment of effects of wastewater and stormwater discharges, hydro-power generation, water abstraction and irrigation. He has expertise in port development, road construction, forestry, landfills, mining, and river flood protection works.
David enjoys a balance between fieldwork, data analysis, and report writing. He believes that a strong environmental science contribution is a critical component of successful infrastructure projects, without which the necessary approvals could not be obtained. His work is equally important because it helps safeguard the environment, maintains biodiversity, and provides for future generations.
On the weekends, David likes nothing better than getting into the back country on his mountain bike or spending time with his family.
