Making mine closure and reclamation simpler and more cost-effective
Mine closure and reclamation is a complex process. It’s challenging to find the right balance between stakeholder interests and social and environmental responsibilities. Plus, the multi-decade closure timeline means changing regulatory requirements and people turnover.
It’s a constantly evolving process. And reclamation must focus on transitioning the mine to a land use that will benefit future generations and leave a positive post-mining legacy.
Nexus Flow™ is an integrated mine closure planning and management application. It was developed by our Digital Solutions team, in consultation with our mining experts. Nexus Flow streamlines the reclamation process to support operational efficiency, regulatory requirements, and corporate commitments.
How? By centralizing and integrating closure and reclamation data from all mine facilities into one system-agnostic hub. Planning for the future of your mine facilities will be simpler, quicker, and more cost-effective.
Utilize Nexus Flow for all your closure planning data, from exploration to post-mining monitoring and relinquishment.
Restore the natural environment
The Holden Mine was one of the largest copper mines operating in the United States in the 1940s. Waste rock and mill tailings covered 124 acres (50 hectares) of US national forest land. We conceived an integrated closure system which included infrastructure improvements, groundwater collection and treatment, demolition, and a restoration approach to re-establish native vegetation.
