Upgrading the player experience at Fenway Park
The Boston Red Sox wanted to upgrade their player experience and engaged our designers as part of the team to reimagine the clubhouse at Fenway Park. We provided interior and lighting design and as well as construction administration services for this clubhouse upgrade project.
Working with D’AIQ Architects, we developed the space design through virtual models of each area—clubhouse, locker rooms, tunnel, and batting cages—capturing design intent and the integration of finish materials and lighting in the renderings. Our lighting team focused on providing options to integrate simulated daylighting and the desired energy and mood within the spaces to enhance alertness, acuity, and even performance. We also provided consultation on furniture selection and acoustics, collaborating with Red Sox consultants on audiovisual and environmental design.
From their arrival to the park through the locker rooms and onto the field, players and coaches have a refreshed experience. New features include customized maple lockers, responsive color changing lighting, improved sound systems, and 16 TV displays that combine to form two 360-degree jumbotrons. The renovations also added locker rooms for female coaches and a digital batting cage.
