Going the extra mile to make sure Schiphol Airport is in the right hands
When the contract with its waste collectors ended in 2014, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol set out to find a new service supplier. Given our previous involvement in waste management services at the airport, we were asked to provide support in the procurement of a new partner. This involved drafting the terms of reference, contributing to formulation of the awarding criteria, and assessing the various submissions. After the new contract was awarded, we were asked to manage preparations by the new supplier, so the transition would be as seamless as possible.
To ensure we had a complete picture of what Schiphol would need, we conducted a market survey and internal consultation with several departments in the client organization. Based on these insights into the needs of the organization, we drew up the contract requirements. Next, our experts vetted tenderers and their subscriptions, to ensure that Schiphol would be left in the best care possible. We also played a role in the management of the contract, acting as the first point of contact for the supplier and making sure the implementation of the contractual services went smoothly and according to agreements.
The support we provided resulted in an effective exchange of suppliers, all the while minimizing the impact on airport processes so Schiphol could continue operating in their usual, highly efficient state.
