Yonge Street North and Scarborough Subway Extensions Delivery Partner
Metrolinx has a goal to improve travel time and reliability for their public transit system in Toronto. The Yonge North and Scarborough subway extensions program is aimed at expanding the Toronto subway network and improving overall metro rail services in the Greater Toronto Area. They engaged us to help.
We’re part of the Mace, Comtech, and SYSTRA consortium working with Metrolinx as the delivery partner for this C$15 billion ($11 billion) subway extensions program. Serving as the key sub-consultant within this integrated team, we’re providing expertise in several critical areas of this expansion program. These areas include construction management, interface management with participating parties, cost estimating, and design review. This program comprises 16 kilometres (10 miles) of subway line extension with seven new subway stations and numerous connections with local surface transit.
The Yonge North subway extension will help make travel between York Region and downtown Toronto more efficient by increasing capacity, speed, and convenience while cutting down on traffic congestion and pollution. The Scarborough subway extension will feature connections to other modes of transit—from bus lines to light rail transit lines. When complete, these subway extensions will help transit riders travel to and from downtown Toronto with reliable, faster service.
