Solutions that maintain level of care through the expansion process
The Pierre-Boucher Hospital in Longueuil serves more than 247,000 people and offers general, specialized, and highly specialized acute care and services.
Stantec participated in the project to expand and redevelop the ambulatory care centre at the Pierre-Boucher Hospital by carrying out the mechanical engineering for the building.
The 100,000-square-foot expansion of the new ambulatory care centre and 90,000-square-foot interior redevelopment included the operating room, laboratories, radiology department, intensive care unit, cardiology department, pulmonary medicine department, and various specialized clinics, among which the oncology departments.
Our main challenge was to maintain the level of care and services during these works. We ensured user safety, preserved occupied areas close to work zones, optimized schedules, upgraded existing facilities, and integrated sustainable development approaches.
