As Stantec’s North American Discipline Lead for natural systems design, Matt is responsible for connecting staff across Stantec who design river, coastal, and wetland environments. He is also a principal hydrotechnical and civil engineer responsible for pursuits, business development, and service delivery for our water resources business within western Canada.
Matt is most known for his work on river engineering assessment projects and the design of riverine infrastructure, flood mitigation, and restorations. He has worked in remote environments for the resource development industry and in municipal environments of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and the Arctic. His portfolio includes several high-profile projects in the parks and other ecologically and recreationally sensitive areas. Matt appreciates that working at Stantec gives him exposure to several different sectors, resulting in varied and interesting opportunities for his professional practice.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys backcountry hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and skiing in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta and British Columbia.
