With valuable experience in potable water process engineering, Andrew enjoys sharing his experience with clients to develop and implement solutions at water treatment plants, with the goal of delivering safe drinking water to their communities.
His process experience is broad, with additional expertise in water chemistry. For example: he's designed systems to remove metals such as arsenic, iron, and manganese from groundwater; optimised conventional coagulation, flocculation, and filtration systems for organics removal; and assisted clients with the design and operation of chlorine and ozone disinfection systems.
Andrew's not all technical—he enjoys working collaboratively with clients, contractors, and other engineering and science discipline practitioners to deliver suitable solutions. A standout project for Andrew was leading the delivery of improvements to the water and wastewater infrastructure on Chatham Island. The team replaced aging infrastructure, added monitoring equipment at the water treatment plants to strengthen public health safety, and improved the raw and treated water networks for resilience.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys exploring New Zealand's beautiful back country on foot.
