They say, if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. This is true for Matt. He grew up with a fascination and eye for building and constructing things. Be it LEGOs, a bike ramp, woodworking, or fixing bikes, Matt has always had a natural curiosity and passion for what he didn’t know then, would be engineering.
If you have a chance to sit down and talk to Matt, you’ll learn he has a fast-paced creative mind where projects can grow from an idea to a tangible place or thing our communities use daily. The most rewarding part about the work he does is watching these ideas transition into digital line work and from there into physical solutions and improved connectivity.
It’s not about instant gratification for Matt, it’s about the long-term use and enjoyment of projects like the North Metro Rail Line and Central Mesa LRT Extension. He’s worked from that large scale to smaller scale projects like trail design, public jump parks, community trail systems, and everything in between.
