Sara has spent over a decade consulting on sensitive species investigations and biological surveys across the US and Canada. As a wildlife biologist, she manages complex data, prepares reports that meet regulatory guidelines and client needs, and mentors colleagues.
Focusing on projects in the power transmission industry, Sara is passionate about herpetology and wildlife biology. She’s assisted with amphibian recovery in British Columbia, relocating snakes from construction areas in California, and conducting call surveys for rare frogs in Illinois. In addition to being our US terrestrial wildlife technical lead, Sara is also an amphibian and reptile subject matter expert and a certified wildlife biologist with The Wildlife Society.
Sara enjoys volunteering to protect local herpetofauna, hiking, herping (looking for amphibians and reptiles), and working on her native plant garden. She’s the proud creator of the Stantec Wildlife Activity Book, a fun and educational resource filled with fascinating facts and beautiful illustrations. The coloring pages are based on real photographs of animals taken in the wild by Sara and other biologists. She hopes to spark a love for nature and biology in young scientists through hands-on learning and art.
