Coen leads the transition team for our Energy and Sustainability group in the Netherlands, or Transitieteam Energie en Duurzaamheid (TED) in Dutch. He primarily focuses on energy transition and sustainable audits. As a pioneer of our Innovation pillar, he collaborated with Canadian colleagues to develop a climate risk tool that helps clients to quickly assess anticipated hazards for their operations and communities under different scenarios.
Known to be curious, creative, and entrepreneurial, Coen seeks out knowledge and tries to combine different perspectives, drawing on his background in culture, environment, technology, and international environmental policy. He has experience with geographical information systems and remote sensing and enjoys working with diverse teams. Coen also engages with the broader scientific community on the topic of landscape restoration and runs a cryogenic technology start-up aimed at carbon capture.
When he isn’t busy with energy and sustainability efforts, Coen can be found swimming or running outdoors. Most of all, he likes to spend time with the people he loves most.
