Ask John what advice he’d offer to other planners, and he’d tell them to get a diversity of experience throughout their careers. Go the extra. Get involved in their profession and community. And, most importantly, have fun—humorlessness is not the same as seriousness.
John has lived his advice over the course of his 40-year career. He has worked as a consultant for government, land developers, utilities, communities, and First Nations. He has flown, driven, biked, and boated to project sites, working with clients, stakeholders, and other professionals to develop great plans.
His portfolio contains an array of award-winning community planning and design projects that cover the gamut from broad region-wide policy planning and urban design to detailed implementation strategies for specific sites.
