Reid is a project manager and environmental geoscientist with over 10 years of experience in environmental impact assessment (EIA), permitting and licensing, environmental site assessment and remediation, and mine closure planning and research.
Reid has led permitting efforts for several pits and quarries in Nova Scotia, and he continues to be closely involved with our environmental services in the mining sector (nationally) and with large environmental remediation projects in the Canadian north.
Prior to joining Stantec, Reid developed and provided technical oversight for large mine reclamation research projects in northern Canada to improve impact predictions, establish site-specific reclamation goals, and refine planned reclamation techniques.
He has also completed internal audits of environmental impacts predictions, mine closure plans and cost estimates for international mining companies and organized engagement activities with governments, public interest groups, first nations, and local regulatory boards.
