Bernardo has extensive experience in the design and construction of residential, hospitality, and retail projects in Florida, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. He’s an expert at meeting the challenges of a compressed schedule and strict budgetary constraints, and he manages large consultant teams that deliver beautiful projects that exceed client expectations.
Though he believes architecture is contemporary in nature, he also believes that great architecture transcends stylistic trends and is very enduring. He spent 16 years serving as the project architect of the north side of Brickell Key, an exclusive private island community in downtown Miami, and describes his experience on the project as very rewarding. He also finds mentoring and interacting with younger architects to be very rewarding. He encourages them to get involved with professional organizations such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and champions an office-wide celebration for those that pass their architectural registration exams.
In his spare time, Bernardo enjoys playing tennis, painting, and sculpting.
