As an experienced project and construction manager with more than 30 years in the construction industry, John is an expert on heavy civil engineering infrastructure and design-build projects. He works on complex rail transportation systems including bridges, tunnels, highways, environmental remediation, and municipal wastewater treatment facilities.
John also has significant experience with track work, train control, and communications systems, as well as facilities and life safety systems. He is currently a resident engineer on the Honolulu Rail Transit Project (HRTP) where he manages the construction engineering and inspection (CE&I) engineers and inspectors that will monitor, track progress, and address contractor's issues in a timely manner. They work alongside Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) to mitigate risk, cost, and schedule impacts.
An avid SCUBA diver, John has a passion for the study, conservation, and restoration of coral reefs impacted by climate change. He also enjoys creating artwork with stained and warm glass.
