A senior water and recycled water engineer, Mike’s a certified California Grade 5 water treatment plant operator with over four decades of experience specializing in the planning, design, construction, and operation of potable and recycled water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution facilities. He’s especially skilled at upgrading existing treatment plants, having managed the design of upgrades to more than 25 plants in the past 30 years and serving in a technical role on many others.
Primarily, Mike manages projects ranging from planning to design, construction, startup, commissioning, and process optimization and he has led or reviewed the designs of numerous activated carbon facilities. Most projects emphasize water quality and treatment processes, but cover all aspects of utility facilities and operation, from supply to the individual customer. He uses a variety of treatment technologies in his projects, including conventional treatment and filtration, high-rate sedimentation and clarification, ozonation, membrane filtration, granular activated carbon filtration, ultraviolet disinfection, and many different chemical feed systems.
With a passion for traveling, Mike and his wife explore new places discovering things they never expected to find. Recently, he repaired a bass guitar he bought in 1976 and finds joy in learning to play it again.
