An economist by training and a conversationalist by disposition, Michele has 25 years of experience leading high-stakes community engagement on some of the largest, most controversial projects in Canada. Leading a team that engaged 15,000 stakeholders and Aboriginal peoples on the Northern Gateway project involved taking Aboriginal groups on tours of the oil sands, developing creative outreach techniques to gather feedback, answering project questions in the pouring rain, and most of all, listening. She strongly believes that incorporating feedback into projects builds trust and strengthens communities.
Michele’s expertise also includes regulatory affairs, strategic planning, public speaking, mentoring, and government relations. She’s negotiated new tolling models with industry and provided evidence at regulatory proceedings.
Outside of the office, she volunteers, sews, and bikes.
