Wayne is a project manager with our mining group after transferring from water and wastewater in Ottawa where he was responsible for developing new business in Northern Ontario. He is known for his work in climate change and climate risk assessments with First Nation (FN) communities in Ontario.
The development and testing of the award-winning First Nation Infrastructure Resilience Toolkit included Wayne’s work on a climate risk assessment for the Moose Cree First Nation (MCFN) water and wastewater facilities. This led to a climate adaptation study where Wayne worked with the community to identify climate risks impacting their traditional ways of living. After creating strategies to cope with impacts, MCFN and Stantec jointly presented the work in a symposium.
Dubbing himself a ‘power sports guy,’ Wayne likes to ride his motorcycle and convertible, play golf, and relax while boating and watching the sunset on warm summer nights. In the winter, snowmobiling with his wife and friends is Wayne’s go-to sport.
