A transportation planning project manager, Richard has 19 years of planning, GIS, and project management experience with various local, state, and federal agencies. Most of his background lies in the transportation sector, developing sustainable, clean, and efficient ways to get around—smart mobility. He provides technical services for long-rage transportation planning, public transportation planning, origin-destination studies, travel demand modeling, traffic planning, and autonomous vehicle concept plans.
Responsible for devising solutions to complex transportation planning issues, Richard is always learning about new technologies and methodologies for analyzing transportation data. Currently, he’s building an application that identifies suitable locations for electric vehicle charging. The tool leverages multiple datasets from public agencies to help them plan and prioritize charging station placement in a growing electric vehicle market.
When he’s not at work, Richard enjoys spending time with his family. He practices traditional Chinese martial arts and teaches them to young children—and strives to be a better teacher and father every day.
