Mark has nearly two decades of restoration and ecology experience in California terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems. He began his career as a restoration technician for a mining company. There he gained firsthand experience in restoration implementation and management. Later, he assisted with restoration research projects at UC Davis and learned the ecological theories underpinning restoration planning.
As a consultant, Mark’s managed all stages of mitigation site establishment. This ranges from initial site reconnaissance and due diligence to entitlements, biological baseline data collection, site monitoring, and mitigation and management plan development. He assists with mitigation planning in the early phases of project development and agency coordination during the permitting process—so projects can be implemented on time and without unanticipated mitigation costs.
Away from his ecological restoration work, Mark enjoys hiking with his son and going thrifting with his wife to find new and vintage pieces to add to their tiki bar at home.
