Tim works with our Environmental Services team in the Pacific Northwest on projects affecting natural resources and critical areas—often wetlands, streams, and rivers. With more than 25 years’ experience in fisheries science and aquatic ecology, he’s involved with data collection for field surveys, environmental permitting needs, and environmental assessments.
As one of our experts on benthic macroinvertebrates (small animals living in water resources), Tim has focused his career on the collection, identification, and analysis of freshwater benthic macroinvertebrate (BMI) communities in waters across the United States. Many of his projects include biomonitoring using BMIs to assess the impact of human disturbances on aquatic communities, especially involving flow regulation—he enjoys sharing this knowledge through small workshops for angler groups and classroom presentations with young students.
In his free time, Tim proudly sports his “geek card” as an avid science-fiction and fantasy fan. He serves as the editor-in-chief of an award-winning fanzine for a popular role-playing game and is a published author of role-playing game content.
