A young Polish science student wants more creativity and exploration in her life, so she transfers continents and colleges and finds the perfect synthesis of her scientific and artistic sides: landscape architecture. We are the beneficiaries of this journey, as Barbara plies her skills in the Northeast, creating environments that promote people's health, happiness, and well-being. At Stantec, she focuses on communities where she transforms complex, often neglected sites into valuable assets.
Barbara’s excitement about her work is contagious. For example, she delights in the transformative character of the Albany Skyway, the region’s first conversion of an obsolete highway ramp into an ADA compliant park. This intricate project, requiring a large multidisciplinary team, showcases Barbara’s skills as a landscape architect and her commitment to enhance the quality of life of the community through designing a vibrant park that connects neighborhoods and provides the much-needed link to the waterfront.
Outside of work, Barbara loves getting active—particularly by climbing trees and ziplining.
