Paul has 12 years of engineering experience, and—in an earlier career—he worked in biofuel research and development, creating numerous biofuels processing patents. He’s focused on renewable energy and biomass processing, specifically in the development and evaluation of processes to deconstruct and upgrade biomass and the development of catalytic upgrading in the bioenergy space. Paul has worked on projects in a variety of industries including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and power generation.
He’s worked as a biogas process lead and technical process engineer on upgrading projects in Nebraska, Maine, and New Jersey, completing work in catalytic deconstruction, hydrothermal liquefication, and enhanced processing. His recent experience includes providing technical direction for the process improvement, integration, and scale-up of a biomass to aromatics and fuels project through the Department of Energy.
When Paul isn’t working to solve real-world challenges with engineering solutions, you might find him fishing, hunting, and enjoying family time with his two young boys.
