Mary's work focuses on the aquatic and terrestrial environment to support environmental assessments and environmental effects monitoring to serve clients across all sectors. She provides leadership to our ecosystems staff and services in Canada, and she leads the growth of our environmental DNA (eDNA) services. Mary has co-authored several technical papers on using eDNA to detect aquatic species and she regularly presents at technical and industry conferences on eDNA and other science-based solutions.
Our eDNA tools improve biological surveys, rare species assessments, and invasive species determinations. Mary and her team use these DNA-based tools to save time and cost and raise the confidence of clients and regulators in making decisions to avoid effects to the environment.
Mary enjoys living in Fredericton on the east coast of Canada with her family and two big dogs, Georgia, and Henry. Her family loves outdoor activities on snow, in boats, on trains, along hiking trails, in the water, and beside bonfires.
